virusAs we are currently operating in uncertain times the one thing we are certain of is the importance of putting our people’s wellbeing at the forefront combined with the ability to successfully run our business with our customers and suppliers.

DLS is taking the recent outbreak of COVID-19 very seriously and the management team are in contact, as per government guidelines, to make appropriate decisions for our people and the business. While we await to see what evolves over the coming weeks, we have prepared as much as we can to ensure we continue to meet our customer commitments.

To date we’ve made a decision to limit all work-related travel, external meetings and events, and have placed teams on rotation to minimise the risk of infection and transmission. Our staff are all still available and will be maintaining business and service relationships through telephone and email.

We are confident that as a UK manufacturer having multiple sites, high levels of raw materials and where appropriate finished goods this will allow us the flexibility as and when demand and labour availability change so that we can remain agile as a business satisfy our customer orders.

Manufacturing and production will cease except where necessary to fulfill confirmed customer orders where we are certain that you are able to receive deliveries. It is not fair on our staff to attend work unless customers actually require supply. We would appeal to customers to communicate their requirements.

We are NOT receiving supplier deliveries unless specific arrangements have been made. Suppliers must contact the office to agree a delivery time. In general we operating some warehouse activity on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Activity at other times need to be specifically arranged in order that staff can be martialled within the Government guidelines.

We continue to monitor the situation daily and take action based on Government advice and directives, however we remain positive that we have the ability to manage and serve our markets within this dynamic environment.

DLS Medical launch a range of Opthalmic Surgery Packs

opthalmic-packsWe are launching a range of opthalmic minor surgery packs.  We have been supplying these products for many years however these are now available to purchase directly.  We have a small number of standard packs but are able to assemble bespoke packs to suit all customer needs.

Packs are assembled and sterilised at our UK site in Peterborough.  We work with a small number of carefully selected suppliers to source instruments from Asia.  We do not source from China.
